Sundays and Road Trips

road trip 01

I took some photos on a drive to Subic fairly recently. I needed to get away and clear my head then, so we hit the road. We drive south of Manila often, to Tagaytay and Batangas for work, so we went north this time.

Back in college, Jeff would borrow his dad’s car and pick me up Sunday mornings to take me on road trips. We would save up what we could during the week for gas and snacks for the drive, and he would make us mix tapes to play on the road. There are few things I love in this world more than being next to him as he drives along open roads and we’re singing along to good music at the top of our lungs. It’s like a reset button, much like being by the sea. Peace, love, and road karaoke.

And if a double-decker bus crashes into us, to die by your side is such a heavenly way to die.
